that's the day

life took a new turn.

Just another day now in 2016, but 20 years ago the 19.July was something else. Gunlaug and I got married that day, which makes it a day that is well worth remembering.

And here we are all these years later, enjoying the memories while carrying on with our lives. All is good at present, and we have reasons to be hopeful for the future.

To love is nothing. To be loved
is something. But to be loved
by the one you love…is
everything. 20 years is a long time in a human's life, and much has happened in that time. I'm not gonna waste much time and space on that here – not today.
I can find so many better uses for my time today, and all the appropriate words for the occasion are reserved for one person's ears only.

All else you may have come to expect in this age of online announcements in connection with all big and small events in life, may be inferred.

quiet day then.

The 19. July 1996 was the highlight of my life in every way possible, but it was also a very quiet day – just as we wanted it. A few family members were present in church and at the following dinner, and late that evening we took off on our honeymoon.

A few weeks were spent traveling up and down and around in Norway and Sweden, without any specific plans – we made all up as we went along.
Visiting friends along the route and sightseeing interesting places as we saw fit, and otherwise just enjoying life together. Quite an interesting, and memorable, start of our marriage.

quiet day now.

Gunlaug and I are still not much for celebrations with lots of people present, so a quiet day at home is all we have planned for on our 20 year wedding anniversary.
Whatever else that may happen, is not planned – at least not by us.
