pandemics and statistics

not just numbers.

The numbers keep on growing, and with new mutations being added to the pandemic mix, numbers of COVID-19 victims are unlikely to quit rising anytime soon. Statistically those COVID-19 death numbers are not having much of an impact on world population numbers though, as the “surplus” of births vs deaths each year is still quite high. Does not sound good when put this way, but that is statistics for you.
According to other statistics: in my country (Norway) at least as many people on average die from the common flu in a year, as have died from COVID-19 related diseases in such a timeframe. Other countries have not been so “fortunate”.

As touched on in another article; a COVID-19 mutation may kill me, but so may a whole range of other incidents, accidents, and diseases I may run into. Worrying about what may happen can only cause stress and disturb our peace of mind, and none of us are getting out of this life alive anyway…

So, if the pandemic-related numbers are not all that scary to me, what is?
Far worse than any pandemic – in my opinion, is the fact that even remotely negative incidents and conditions anywhere in the world get blown out of proportions and presented to us as clear signs of overhanging danger to mankind as a whole, that only members of some very small and exclusive groups of people that have declared themselves as being the owners of the only true answers and solutions know how to avert.
These small groups of mainly self-declared “leaders” and “experts” must be religiously trusted and obeyed as if they were our all-knowing and all-mighty – almost God-like – masters in any and all fields, or else we all most certainly will go to hell.
Anyone heard such lines before?

history repeats itself…

The formulas behind the above have been well tested throughout history, and have shown again and again to end up in the same rounds of widespread death and destruction, before being crushed and (seemingly) disappear into oblivion. Only to pop up again when opportunity knocks and power-hunger takes over, usually in equally or even more destructive and/or deadly iterations, once the majority has forgotten all about the last rounds.

Not all of us forget that easily, and do recognize the unmistakeable hallmarks as they show up. Only thing is: we tend to think all others must be recognizing them for what they are also, and in that we may be sorely mistaken.

Having power struggles and other distractions in the midst of a pandemic, do not favor the all-important processes of collecting, sorting and spreading facts. Just a coincidence?

not your grandma's vaccines…

You may as well forget all you have learned about vaccines, as not much of what we have been served along with our vaccines in the past apply to COVID-19 vaccines, regardless of which definition that is being applied by whoever.

The term “emergency use authorization” speaks for itself though, and that is what we are dealing with here. If any of these vaccines deserve, and will get, full approvals once they have been properly tested, remains to be seen. In the mean time; we are the guinea pigs these “emergency use authorized vaccines” are being tested on.
Read the two quotes below before making up your mind on the matter. Maybe you grok the slightly conflicting messages?

Quote 1:

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Department of Health and Human Services and a vaccinology expert confirm there is no single medical definition of a vaccine, but COVID-19 vaccines meet the generally accepted criteria that requires a vaccine to prevent disease by building immunity. source: kare11.com

Quote 2:

5.5 Purchaser Acknowledgement.
Purchaser acknowledges that the Vaccine and materials related to the Vaccine, and their components and constituent materials are being rapidly developed due to the emergency circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic and will continue to be studied after provision of the Vaccine to Purchaser under this Agreement. Purchaser further acknowledges that the long-term effects and efficacy of the Vaccine are not currently known and that there may be adverse effects of the Vaccine that are not currently known. Further, to the extent applicable, Purchaser acknowledges that the Product shall not be serialized. source: lawinsider.com

So what does that mean? Buyer beware … for recommended vaccines?

It seems like many think they know everything they and everyone else need to know about COVID-19 vaccines, and argue that we all should get our shots ASAP no matter what.
However, all their arguments appear to be built on a whole lot of nothing, backed by those who know even less. The only thing we know for sure at this point in time, is that nobody knows for sure what they are recommending and promoting either way.
Not very satisfying… I want to see more trustworthy data, and I am not alone in presenting such wishes.

why take chances?

What variant of Poker are we playing here? What is really at stake, apart from our health and lives?

Quote 3:

From the start, virologists said that there would be natural variants to Covid-19. They also accurately predicted that effectiveness of Covid-19 vaccines would wear down in a matter of months, not years. Now, CDC is confirming that the current Covid-19 vaccines are not working effectively against Covid-19.
In contrast, the millions of Americans who have fought off Covid-19 infections, either with or without symptoms, are proving to have greater and longer lasting immunity, so far, than those who have been vaccinated. That, too, was predicted by virologists. source: (Read) CDC: 74% who got Covid-19 and most who were hospitalized in recent analysis had been fully vaccinated.

With the amount of reliable information regarding the usefulness and risks linked to accepting any of the types of COVID-19 vaccines that is available at present – which is next to zero, the individual person is the one who has to take all chances no matter what he or she decides, or not.
We are ending up having to make our choices based solely on which of the many who show up in mainstream media or elsewhere to express their more or less educated opinions on the matter, we do or do not have any faith in.

Looks like the kind of game I am too old for and do not want to participate in, complicated further by the fact that one cannot undo vaccination…
… and to cover all bases: death by either COVID-19 viruses or vaccines, is of course also irreversible…

To conclude for now: I end up not being entirely for or against any of the available alternatives as such, as I simply do not have enough up to date and verifiable information to make an educated decision. That despite the ever-increasing flow of bad numbers and news – or maybe because of it?
Objective data requested…

(21.aug.2021) Introduction of vaccine passports and alike in more and more countries and communities around the world, makes it less likely that I personally will accept any of the COVID-19 “vaccines” available at present. Turning voluntary into mandatory with no proven health-gains – which over time will be the consequence of that kind of passport – is not acceptable.

(19.sep.2021) Confirmed numbers of injuries and deaths directly linked to COVID-19 “vaccines”, have risen both nationally and internationally in later months. See bottom part of link list in sidenotes for relevant data.
